Rogue windows popping up in Max 6
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced the following strangeness with Max 6. I'm running Max 6.13 on a Retina MacBook Pro.
1. Occasionally, and for no apparent reason a floating window appears at the very bottom of my display. At least it looks like the top of a window that's been pushed down so that only the very top of it is visible at the bottom of the display. It's visible even when in fullscreen mode using a jit.window object. Fortunately there is a dispose button on it that can be used to make it go away.
2. Occasionally, and for no apparent reason, a crude looking (no color, pretty shadows, transparencies, etc.) window appears in the background titled NX colorpicker sliders. It does, indeed, feature some sliders that would allow one to manipulate color, for what however is unclear. This one cannot be disposed of without shutting Max down completely.
As I said. It's strange. Number 2 is just a nuisance. But number 1. could be a deal-breaker if it shows up unexpectedly during an exhibition with no one around to deal with it.
Thanks,
Kenneth.
For your reference, this issue was mentioned before, without it leading to any solution. It seems the mechanism that creates it cannot be traced.
Aha, my search of the forum for keywords pertaining to this failed to unearth those previous posts. At least I know it's not just my system.
As I mentioned, the floating window at the bottom is serious trouble when it occurs in a professional context. I'll try to pay attention to when it happens and report back.
any resolutions to this issue ?
Hi! I have been having the same problem... I think I first noticed it on Mac Mavericks 10.9 or so... Seems to happen often if I have a normal color picker on the screen (or perhaps have used one this Max Session) then toggle full screen...
It still happens in Max 7. I had the issue on Leopard with Max 6 as well, and now on Mavericks same difference. Kind of annoying, there's no way to close those windows...
