Routing a signal from Max Runtime directly to Logic Pro

Hi,

I would like to know if you can route a signal from max runtime and record the signal within logic? If so, how would I achieve this?

you can do this with rewire.

here's a little how-to with max non-runtime:

Open Logic and open a new project.

Open Max, goto DSP Status and select "ad_rewire" as driver.

In Logic create an aux channel (In the mixer window options/create new auxiliary channel strips..) and select "RW:MaxMSP 1" as input and "bus 1" as output.

Create an audio channel with "bus 1" as input (so you can record).

Get ready to rumble ;) everything sent to [dac~] will be available as RW:MaxMSP 1..16

I haven't tried this with the runtime version though !

Would I have to change audio preferences in logic? i.e. input and output devices

Nothing needs to be set in logic's prefs. Logic automatically (most of the time ;) detects rewire clients and makes them available as inputs for aux channels.

I think it's important to first start logic (host), then max (client).

You might want to activate "software monitoring" in logic's audio prefs (i'm not quite sure).

I followed the directions above for routing audio from Max into Logic -- it's, well, perfectly logical, except I am not able to toggle ad_wire to the 'on' position. Has anyone ever had this situation occur? My regular audio driver works fine.
