Running Max/MSP 6.1.6 on Mavericks

When I launch Max on Mavericks (10.9.2), I can't get any window nor any menu bar although the process is running and appears in the process list or in the dock. The dock even tells me that a patch is opened. I can't also quit it (from the dock) and I have to kill the process.
I think there is some incorrect state stored somewhere and restored when launching the app. I don't have the problem with the runtime version, nor with Max 5.
Any idea of what happens and how to solve ?

You can try clean re-installation of Max 6. The steps are in this thread:

Unfortunately, it doesn't work. First, the content of the "~/Library/Application Support/Cycling '74" folder looks quite different on Mavericks. I tried to remove the whole Cycling '74 folder and to reinstall, I've also removed the com.cycling74.Max* files in ~/Library/Preferences...
without success.
When I launch the application from a terminal, I get the console messages and that the application freezes after2014-03-17 11:21:18.415 Max[30636:507] startup call: apm_init
(last console message)
