Runtime doesn't load samples

I'm currently working on an A/V installation, which I had hoped to run using Runtime, but it won't load the audio samples.

I'm using the buffer module, with the read message followed by the file name. The files are in the search path and when opened using Max/MSP is works perfectly, but when opened using Runtime it cant find the files.

Anyone encountered this?

try putting the files at deeper level than the Cycling '74 folder, if they are not already...

Thanx

I have them in user/music/samples/projectfolder

I don't understand why runtime can't find them but Max can.

Are you making it a standalone, or a .mxf? If it's a standalone (or if you can make it a standalone), and you're on a Mac, put the samples inside the application package, in (Application):Contents:MacOS, and it'll work. To get at that folder, control-click the app and choose 'show package contents.'

If it's an MXF, you should be able to just put the files in the same directory as the mxf file.

For collectives and standalones I always use the path message to
thispatcher to find out the absolute path to the collective. Then I
place a folder sounds/ at the same place. With this you can always point
to the folder to load the sounds...
