Saving / Restoring UI presets in Standalone App.
Hi all, Im new to Max and enjoying the experience. I have built a standalone app but have had no luck getting user presets to autosave and auto restore. I have read every post on this issue with no joy so must be missing something. I have autopattr and Pattrstorage objects in my patch, with arguments @savemode 3 @autorestore 1 @ fileusagemode 0 but its just not recalling Umenus edited in standalone. The Save and Save As in the menu bar are also greyed out. Why is this? Simply saving a patch in standalone mode seems to be the hardest thing to achieve. Am I missing something? please help, I just want my app to save the state it was left in and automatically recall that state when it opens.

Just coming back to this, does anyone have any awnsers? Is it possible to save presets in a standalone? Would be very greatful for any feedback.
Many thanks
Dan
yes, i do it with the preset object linked to pattrstorage and autopattr, reading/saving from/to .maxpresets files.
you can't save a patch in standalone or runtime mode but you can have it read/write from the maxpresets file.
Thanks dtr, could you explain how you get it to read/write from the maxpresets file in standalone. I'm missing something because autopattr and pattrstorage only seem to work when running in max.
I'm sorry, was mistaken. In my standalones I only use preset objects saving/loading .maxpresets files.
