Send MIDI Port information
Hi all,
I'm using Max with Kontakt, and from Max i'm sending three MIDI outputs, respectively A, B, C
A: Kontakt 4 Virtual Input
B: from MaxMSP 1
C: from MaxMSP 2
the problem is Kontakt recognizes the three MIDI inputs, but puts everything on Port A.
I'm working on an automatized program, so I'd like to change those parameters via Max, if that is possible.
And here i go with my question: is it possible? ^_^

Not sure I understand the question.
Do you want to change the receiving ports of Kontakt instruments? If so, it's not possible.

i'd like to have *something* (a Max command, a Kontakt script, whatever) to force Kontakt have MIDI inputs on my chosen ports. Manually you just have to go to Kontakt preferences > MIDI and select the port, but I'd like to automate that.

This is less of a Max question than it is a Kontakt question.
Is it out of the question to send stuff from Max on different channels of the Kontakt virtual port and use the channel information to sort things out on the Kontakt end?

in a way I though Max could solve the Kontakt problem, but i was not sure...
and what you say could be done, unless I had 30 different MIDI channels...
so I must use separate ports, that's where my problems start.. *_*
The port assignments of Kontakt instruments cannot be automated in any way (also not with scripts).
