Sending Audio to Multiple Different Devices
Hey, I'm wondering what would be the cleanest way to achieve this:
From one single patch I want to send audio to different speakers that will be in different rooms, each with completely independent audio. This will be running in a regular windows laptop, and in fact I'd like to be able to run this patch in several different ones. (for a bit more context: the plan is to create a central control panel to control the sound effects of an escape room venue, that has several different escape rooms with independent audio)
One approach is to specify which audio device to send each audio stream in the ~dac properties (I think this can be done). I don't think a regular laptop can deal with multiple simultaneous audio outputs though, right?
Another approach is to of course have each speaker be a separate channel going out through one single ~dac, that would then have about 8 channels, as if it were a surround sound system. The difficulty there is that all these speakers should be recognised as one single output device by my laptop. Can that be done? I still haven't bought the speakers to use, so maybe there's some specific product that would work well with this setup. Any suggestions? Or maybe if I bought an audio console to then route audio to these different speakers as different channels? Any specific products that would be good to wirelessly do this?
Thanks!
Nico
