serato records

the thought popped into my head earlier now that i've really spent some time using max and creating a fully functional patch for creating the vinyl sampled, heavily chopped up tracks i like to make, that it should be possible to use the serato timecode records to control audio files in max. i've sifted through some old threads talking about this idea, but they are over a year old now, and i wasn't clear as to what is possible with this set up.

Is it possible to set it up so that a buffer or groove is controlled by the pitch recieved from the control record playing on the turntable?? I could see this being totally possible for a simple pitching of a sound, but when it came to attempting scratching and spinning back a record it seems like there might be trouble in max recognizing the backward motion of the record and linking that to scrub back (and forth) across the waveform. Who's got info on what's possible here??
