How do I share a max application with others on dropbox? I tried to just upload the max application, but dropbox only receives single files, not apps. Then I tried to zip the app, so that I could transfer it to dropbox, however, when I wanted to unpack the zip file with the app bundle it was not possible.

Any advice how to share a max app via online services?

That's how I do it without any trouble, just zip it, upload, and give the link to whomever you want to have it. The only problem I've had is zipping a standalone that was made in windows on a mac -- then if the recipient unzips it on a windows machine it can cause permission problems. Might be a problem with your ISP?

Hmm, I do exactly what you describe, but when I download the zip I can't unwrap it, or if I unwrap it, then the app doesn't want to start when I click on it. It is as if the app does not get back in the state it was before it was zipped, somehow ...

Any other ways of sharing a max app - some other online services where you don't have to zip it?

ah ... I see. The mac / security preferences needs to be set to allow downloads of apps. Now it works, finally!
