[sharing] finally sigmund~ for windows!
Hallo, after fiddling around in Visual C 2008 for a couple of hours, I managed to successfully compile Miller Puckette's completely awesome sigmund~ external for windows (it was previously only available for mac). It probably would have been a simple task, had I known anything about C...
Anyway, you can get it here:
www.vaetxh.com/content/software/sigmund.05~%20windows.zip
Let me know if you have any issues (though I probably won't be able to solve them sorry).
Cheers,
Rob
Oh, and it doesn't appear to completely stable (it's crashed on delete before, god knows why).
Rob
Great!!!!
Thanks!!! a million times!!!
Seems to be working fine on my system (WinXP),
though Max5 is never stable on my system so i can't comment on stability...
now i have to go, to make new patch with this!!
sweet! glad someone is finding some use for this!
Hey Brico, thanks again for getting this ported.
I tested it on my machine (Vista) and have not encountered
any problems. At lest not with the help files.
Is this a debug build or a release? Do you have any
other files that might be good to test with?
i have absolutely no idea i'm afraid...i really, genuinely don't know C - i just learnt the very small amount needed to convert the code.
I am fairly experienced, I would be happy to help as well.
Running in debug v.s. release mode is a big difference. What
compiler are you using?
Visual C++ 2008. Basically I just took the simplemsp~ example, replaced the code with the sigmund~ code, renamed all the files, changed the .def file, added a #define MSP 1, inserted the FFT code from PD and bobs your uncle!
rob
Oh, and do you want the source?
Sure, if you don't mind sharing.
I am pretty familiar VS2008, I can check if
optimizations are turned on.
It would also allow me to debug any issues
if it crashes.
Many thanks.
Of course, I should have put in the original download. I'm not at home at the moment but I'll put it online this evening.
sigmund~ crashes on Mac too btw. Repeatable at least if I open the help file, switch on audio, and then type in an additional attribute "@npts 2048"...
But other than that, (which seems avoidable by switching off audio before editing,) its great...
Thanks for making it cross platform...
Stefan
Cheers!
Rob
Sweet! Really Sweet! Can you do pd~ next??! :D
