Hi
I just wanted to share something with you all. It's a cool and cheap way to stream up to 16 ipcams @ once :-) !
It is something that took me a while to get to work but now I have it so here it goes.

On your iphone , you download ipCam
http://skjm.com/ipcam/

Then download IPCAM2SYPHON (all documentation is there)
https://github.com/bakercp/IPCAM2SYPHON
And
then the cool syphon (by Vade and gang) (sorta like the "soundflower" equivalent for Jitter!)
http://syphon.v002.info/

Here is what you do to get it to work :

You open the "data" folder that comes with the IPCAM2SYPHON app.
streams.xml

Notate the ip addresse that the iphone app ipCam will give you and insert it in the streams.xml code, in the section that follows

if you have a port or want a port (say 9001)

insert as such

you can also test your cam setup by just clicking in the link created in the streams.xml code.
It will launch a page in your web browser.

Finally use it with syphon. It looks and perform great. I'll let you guys figure how to use syphon cause it's really straight forward. Also there are jit.gl.syphonserver and jit.gl.syphonclient to bring everything in Jitter!!

Enjoy !

Hi Phil

Any chance you know if this works with Max 7? I'm having difficulty getting the Syphon externals to function properly in Max 7.2 when running in both 32-bit and 64-bit on an Mac OS 10.11.

I've successfully compiled the .mxo externals using the jitter.xcodeworkspace file in the GitHub repository for Syphon, although Xcode does say the build failed, but the jit.gl.syphonserver and jit.gl.syphonclient externals are compiled anyway.

The problem is that when I get the externals visible in Max and load them into a patch, the colour of the objects change and there are no inlets or outlets so can't be used.

Perhaps there is a compatibility issue with Max 7, or maybe the externals are not being compiled properly in Xcode. Did you have to compile the externals yourself when you did this or where they precompiled when you downloaded the Syphon-Jitter repository? The two readme files give slightly contradicting instructions on this. Any insight you might be able to offer on this would be very much appreciated.

hi david. there is no need to compile the syphon externals. they are distributed and installed via the Max Package Manager.

make sure you remove your old versions prior to installing via the Package Manager.

The github says the IPCAM2SYPHON should be installed in the /bin folder. Which folder is this. I'm running on MAX 7 , OSX Sierra.
The IPCAM2SYPHON app starts with a black screen when touching the controls, it crashes so my guess it's not in the correct folder.

I'm now syphoning from vlc stream, but I need multiple streams and what I found was that this 'app' can handle this.

Hi LAZYFATTREE,

Did you ever get syphon to work in MAX 7?
I am having similar issues - i.e., being able to view IP camera in VLC no problem, but can't seem to find a way to get it in MAX.
I am also just getting a black screen in Simple Client and/or MAX
I have followed your comments in different threads and there don't seem to be any clear solutions.

I'm running MAX 7 on a Mac OSX 10.8.5
The IP camera is a Reolink RLC-410

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
