Sharing is Fun - Linked Faders
I've been trying to replicate the linked fader function on many DAW mixers where if you link two faders they move together, BUT maintain their proportional relationship. Thanks to some great help from Luke and Emmanuel in this thread, I think I've succeeded. Enjoy.
that is very nice. i dont think i will have a need for it myself, but thats because i dont know what i would use it for, for my own patching.
but, i easily can see a few people using this.
well done though, it is nice and clean :)...
Thanks Lewis. Yeah, I was working on a project that needs a mixer-type of interface and several of the audio inputs are stereo inputs. Since they need to be adjusted in real time, I was trying to find a way to move one fader and have the other move in proportion to the one I was actually clicking on.
well i was just doing some composition work and came across once or twice time when i needed to put the gain up and down on different sliders, but they were at different values but only need to be moved a decibel.
i then thought of this patch, hee hee.
good work though...
Love your expLink
Elegant patch
thanks a lot
This is really nice man! Thanks.
excellent patch which is sure to get employed at some point, thanks. I love the maintenance of the relative levels when linked.
while we're sharing, here is a comparatively lo-fi gain~ link solution which has been used and reused for four years now:
in this patch, when link is switched on the most recently set value is applied to the other gain~ slider
Hi! this post in wery interesting! Thank you!
There's also another way to create a link between fader/sliders, like VCA/DCA style (you can found this on analog and digital mixing consoles)
Your example is fine for linking faders on stereo channels, hope you enjoy and feel free to change it (but please post it here)
This is my way to do that:
Best regards nad thanks alot!

Before you say anything I'm a complete newbie and I don't know much about MAX!
Can you guys please convert this code into a Max 4 Live patch in Ableton? I'm literally dying to get my hands on a VCA Fader inside Ableton and would love to have this patch!
I beg you!
I've been trying to copy-paste the code inside the 30-day Max Demo and Save it but Ableton doesn't want to open it... I want to be able to map multiple faders and use them as a VCA Fader!
Kind Regards,
Kris
