Hello,

This came out of experimenting with the idea of doing a full tune in max from the generation of melodies and rhythms to synthesis to mixing. Although its not done, I thought it might be a fun way to start a conversation about composing in max. I'd be interested to know how other people accomplish things like this.
I also thought that, since I've learned the majority of what I know about max by hacking apart other peoples patching, that this patch might serve as a useful reference for any number of things. For that reason I've tried to keep it legible and comment its functions but, you know how it goes, its still and eFn mess.
So anyway, here is this piece of music I wrote/am writing. I hope you like it.

Cheers,

minnix

yeah thanks, lots of fun things to rip out, and little variations on the standard max fare of fm and subtractive.

Also, and I realize this isn't related to composition as such, but the delaylines and reverb work really well in this.
For readability I actually think some encapsulation would be grand - this is a large area to scroll around in.

thank you both for checking it out. and thanks RE the reverb. I'm amazed by what you can do with that little freeverb~ object and some delays for echos.

Ahh yes, the patching are is wayyyy too big. haha. Encapsulation would be super helpful. The reason I didn't initially was so that It would be easy to track parameters from a central preset object without pattrizing. I must figure out a better way of doing that for sanity's sake.

from my cursory look it seems like it's the reson~ that sealed it. I'm a sucker for filtering time-based effects.
