Oh yeah, and it's an interesting little exercise in copying and transposing a shape. I think it turned out nice, although I'm still a bit iffy about the colours, so I've left the attruis open for you :)

I erased your jit.gl.mesh copies and left just one to analyze the effect. I like point mode the most, because of the way is suggests a line from one end of the "sphere" to the other. Unfortunately, in the other modes, the points are connected to their "side points" losing that effect. If you put jit.transpose after jit.gen and experiment with other modes (like line modes), you can achieve that alternate look.
yeah, it does "rings" instead of bands, if you get my meaning. I've been trying to find a jit.gen solution for that, but I'm coming up short. My trig isn't up to par, I'm afraid.
