SLIT SCAN TIME REMAP DANCING EFFECT IN REAL TIME VIDEO, Please help!
Hi,
I'm want to create a slit scan "dancing?" effect like in this video from G&G. https://www.instagram.com/p/BsfoqSbBJjl/
Can anyone help me? I'm new to this and I'm finding many tutorials related to the slit scan effect but none of them work like this one. Important is that I want to apply this effect to a real time video!
Any hints?
Thank you all!
have you looked at this thread?

Thanks for the reply!
Actually I have, but I can't get the same effect as in the Gilbert and George video I posted. I'm trying with jit.slide as well but still not the same "S" distortion...Also I'm very new to this so I might be doing sth wrong...
Please help!
Thank you
jit.slide does not do what you want it to do-- you should study this patch:
subtex.3d.maxpat
which comes with max, because it does exactly what you want it to do
Hey Thanks,
I'll work on that one!
Hey,
I don't get how it works...I pullout the example and it's way to much info for what I know so far...would you explain or help me out with this? I really really appreciate your help! I can't find any tutorials on subtext 3d online
THANK YOU!
Hello,
Can someone please help me out? I'd really appreciate!
the example patch is confusing in that it requires enabling usedstdim before it will work.
I've attached an updated version of the patch that modernizes and simplifies some things, adds the ability to change the input dims and slice count, and should work as soon as you turn it on (big toggle).
that being said, this is a complicated technique that requires some study to fully grasp, however you can use the technique without fully understanding what's happening.
Hey Rob! THANK YOU SO MUCH! this seems easier!
The effect appears, however I'm not liking the "Scan" line that continually appears, is that a must? Or is there a chance to just have the distortion applied continually with no scan? Also, everytime I open it it crashes after 2 minutes :S Any ideas why?
THANK YOY THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Sorry!! Just realise how to get rid of the black line!!! :) again THANK YOU! This starts to look so much more to what I was looking for!!!
Hey Rob! One last question...is there away of getting this effect without the slices?
