Small Bluetooth clicker for Max?

I am searching for a small bluetooth clicker that can send bangs to Max merely to trigger sound files. I am writing a piece for soprano with extensive staging. She is moving all over the stage, rolling, crawling, etc., so I'd like her to be able to trigger from anywhere on stage and not have to return to a foot pedal. Ideally it's some discrete handheld object or button on her body. I tried a powerpoint clicker with the hi object, and hi wasn't able to read anything from the clicker.

Any suggestions? Is this possible?

Or do I need to be wired? If wired, what is the cheapest and most straight-forward hardware with which to send bangs?

Thank you for any help! -from a Max Novice.

The powerpoint clicker you linked looks like a normal HID keyboard, so if you're struggling with [hi] or [hid], you should probably be able to get it to work with [key]. But I don't think there's a reason why it shouldn't work with hi/hid

If you're still looking for alternatives, I'm a big fan of 8bitdo zero 2 or micro for these type of use cases, which supports multiple modes and can be used either with the [gamepad] or [key]. The former fits better in one hand (I have one that I painted black for performances hehe), but it turns off automatically after 15 min if not clicked, which can be a deal-breaker for some performances. The latter allows you to disable the timeout, but is slightly bigger

JBG, thank you very much for your help! I tried the powerpoint clicker again, and it worked this time! I guess I just needed the extra nudge and affirmation to try it again.

Great to know about the 8bitdo's! I appreciate your help!
