Small wireless midi controler: OffGrid and a 'blank' state

Hi, recently I obtained an OffGrid wireless midi controller device from birdkids.
It looks like a very practical and small device for controlling and triggering stuff in Max, with MPE implementations, a built-in gyroscope and responsive LED's.

Yet the software is programmed in a way that it is NOT a blank state:
there are prebuilt presets with responsive LEDs for those prebuilt states. I mailed with the developers and they would like to have a blank state, but then they would need to redevelop the software. Maybe someone in the Max community would be interested in this very portable and handy item and be up for checking out an alternative software to make a very useful open (Max friendly) blank state firmware? So there is an option to build your own presets and reactive LED's.

Let me know if you have a comment!
Cheers, ewoud

My thought is - if you invested 5 $ in touchOSC it would have any configuration that you need on your phone.
Even run max on 60 $ windows tablet that sends OSC is cheaper option.

Why should one bother to provide custom firmware to such device ?
I guess that company would not post details about processor inside, which would probably be something like ESP32 based for 5 - 6 $.

it says :

To customize the mapping on a Factory Preset or create new presets from a Factory Template, please proceed to the WebEditor.

is that not functional ?

Yes, that is a very good thought, I'm am checking out touch osc on my iphone as we speak.
Yet, the birdkids device is very light, compact and well built, that's why it looks like a very
handy device to program with the use of a blank state. The webeditor is works to adjust
the pre-built presets they made, I also had a different idea about that first, but no : )

Thank you anyways
