SMPTE (LTC) Timecode Output

Hello. I'm trying to sync my lights desk with the rest of the hardware.
I have a MIDI Timecode generator sent to MAX, and since my lights desk only receives SMPTE (LTC) timecode, I would like to use an audio file with audio timecode to send from MAX to the lights desk.

How can I sync the incoming MIDI Timecode received in MAX with my audio file containing SMPTE (LTC) data?

I was trying sfplay~ but the only thing I was able to do was seeking with "$1" amount.

Is there a way to make sfplay to listen to a master counter or a timeline?

MAX Receives MIDI TIMECODE in the format:
hh:mm:ss:frames.

Can I use the frames to sync the SMPTE Audio File?

I use MAX/MSP 4.5 on a Windows machine.

Thanks,
Andreww

You could try using the [groove~] object. It can be associated with transport.

@broc is right in principle, but no transport OR groove~ ability to relate to transport on max 4.5. you need to upgrade to max5 or above to do that. on max 4.x there are other ways - i cannot think of them right now, but doable... btw, upgrading to max4.6.3 a good idea - it is free from your current standpoint of 4.5.

Thanks, let me know if a solution comes in mind. I'm not a MAX/MSP Pro user, and I'm not going to upgrade to Max 5 very soon.

Thanks again,
