Sonification of Solar Data
Hello,
I am looking to take live data from the sun (mainly solar wind and Solar flairs) and create audio output.
I have found these sources
ftp://umbra.nascom.nasa.gov/pub/data/realtime/
ftp://ftp.swpc.noaa.gov/pub/plots/goeshp/20130408_goeshp.gif
I know that people have done simular projects before but I wondered if anyone on here knows of any example patches etc?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
All the best
Tim
Robert Alexander did a big project about this and it is in Max. Maybe he would be kind enough to share it if you ask: http://vimeo.com/31574334
This might also help:

Hey thanks very much for the replies.
I have decided to use this source
Which updates every hour and using the jit.uldl object to download the data.
How would I go about just taking the numerical data from this? I would like to ignore the text and just use the numbers into coll to create a data set which is readable.
Again any help would be very much appreciated.
All the best
Tim
