Sonographic Sound Processing

    I made a video on the subject of sonographic sound processing:

    I am also preparing these spectral processing tools for Max for Live, but there is one essential thing missing from Max's side. And that is the ability to change the FFT parameters of pfft object with messages. So please, make that possible in future updates. I just can't finish a Max for Live tool with instructions like "unlock the patch, find the pfft object, write in the FFT size and overlap...."

      Dynamically changing fft sizes etc is easy - you just wrap it in a poly~ and dynamically reload the poly~ with different argument calls. However poly~ functionality is crippled in m4l and you cannot do this there - yet another m4l let down - so you still have a problem! All my m4l fft work is static. Great work by the way.

      About the poly~...
      The thing is that there are about 60 permutations of window size and overlap, that could be interesting here (or even more). So I would need to do 60 different patches...and when I decide to change some small thing in a patch, again, I have to change it in all 60 it may be easy but it is far from handy:)
      And as you said, M4L is jet another story...

      I would do it with scripting. There is a script replace message from Max 4 days, which is still working fine. That would replace an existing object with a new object. That should work....
      And congrats to your dissertation - very helpful and visionary...
