Square ?
On page 83 of the MSP Reference manual in the buffir~ example there is an
object showing "square 0.5". Yet it seems that this object
does not exist? Or perhaps it's a bpatcher that is not explained in the
example.
Just wondering if I'm missing something.

You are correct! There is no square~. I'm just guessing, but I bet that in development, the powers that be used to call rect~ by that name. rect~ is really more of an appropriate name since technically, a square wave is really just a pulse wave with a 50% duty cycle.
However, they really should revise the documentation. At least now no one can accuse you of not reading the manual! :)
This is truly one of those applications that require serious manual reading.
