Standalone APP for PC, Need recompliation Mac - PC or figure out jitlib problem
MAX/MSP user Zach Poff offers a standalone App that synchronizes the playback of N number of video files (.mov format) over N number of computers in a LAN. It is exactly what I need to complete a project that requires synchronizing 8 computers playing 8 variations of the same 6 minute video (no audio). There is only one problem. Zach's app is for Mac computers, and I only have access to 8 PC computers.
In Zach's program, one computer is designated as the Server (which sends out a time code), and the other computers are designated as Clients (which chase the time code).
Someone else has already made a PC re-compliation of Zach's program, which is linked on Zach's website. But, that PC version won't install on my PC computers, and Zach's expertise lies only with Mac machines.
I've tried to install the program (called Multiscreener) on Windows 7 Pro (32-bit) and XP(SP4), all to no avail. I'm using a QuadCore with 4 Gig of RAM memory, so I should be having no problem on the capacity side. But, on install (double clicking the .exe program) I get the same error, which has been mentioned before on this forum. However, the solution to this problem, which involves relocating a couple of files (jitlib.dll, cg.dll, et al) to the Support Folder, unfortunately did not work for me.
I tried installing the program by placing the files and folders on the C: drive (rather than the D: drive in my computer), but with the same bad results.
Although the error from Windows 7 is almost useless, I've included it here:
If it helps, to see a deeper listing of the folders and files, just manually cycle through http://www.bnh.net/images/list3-10.png
Zach has offered his Mac source files, but since I haven't been able to install the App, I'm stuck.
Someone mentioned reinstalling a new jitlib.dll file, but I don't know where to go to get such a file, or how to know if that is the problem. Was a special jitlib.dll file created for Windows 7?
If anyone would like to try another compliation for PC (Windows 7 and Windows XP) using Zach's files, I'd be willing to pay for the solution.
I've tried to contact the person who did the original compliation, but he has not responded and Zach indicates he has been MIA for a while.
Thanks for you help.
I presume this is what you've already tried, but if not:
