When I signed on for $ 9.99 max money collected (accumulated)? That is, I buy on credit? Or am I just paying for a month of use?

It looks like just a month of use. It doesn't look like a rent to own plan to me. At that price it would almost take four years to pay it off. I'll bet we see max 8 within 3 years.

It is a rather interesting choice, overall I think one of the most despicable of society is to be a "rentier" so (and might I this not understanding) do not know if I like that name so at a job where there is a constantly evolving product.
"Rentier" make money without doing anything, "even when asleep" ..
the closest thing in the world, would be the software companies and Bill Gates with his pockets full of patents stolen from other people's ideas.

Renting software is certainly problematic but abuses of these pricing schemes have more to do with the quality of the company. Renting software from Cycling could allow them to better structure their cash flow and create opportunities for more consistent development and updates.
