Surround output in Max/MSP

NRB's icon

Hello forum users,

I'm attempting to create a 4-channel surround output arrangement for one of my patches, with a user interface similar to a surround panning area available in say Logic or Pro Tools (minus centre speaker).

I would ultimately like a square with 4 outputs. As the controller (whatever it might be) is scrolled towards the a corner of the square the sound pans to that speaker.

Any suggestive patches or objects that would help here?

Thanks,

NRB

You want quadpan~ by Luigi Castelli, go to max objects search for one of the 2.

Thanks for these replies, 5-point-1 panning appears to be everything I need. However, i've played with the patch and i'm curious as to how I might attach controller data?

I simply want to control 4-channel speaker panning with X and Y co-ordinates. Any suggestions on how to do this?

Thanks,

Max.

Hi Max,

Something like this?

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

You mean, did you have a folder called "quad-spatializer-folder" in your
"examples" directory ?
