synth example

Hi,

I have been through a bunch of tutorials online that I could find. I am looking for a nice sounding synth (of any type) that doesn't ring out but can sound as long as a tone is 'on'.

Does anyone have a good sounding synth that they would like to share. The synths in the tutorials I have found are usually very basic, and sound very old fashioned and too "synthetic" to me. I need to find a good example on something with more rich harmonics ...

Thanks for your help, and thanks for sharing.

I have a synth example, but it's also fairly simple:

Thank you :-) This is nice - I will add this to my collection :-)

I wonder if there is some place online, where people using max msp share their synths built in max?

I know that there are many interaction designers out there using max, who would like to to use different types of sound synthesis without becoming a sound engineer.

thanks ahead for sharing this valuable knowledge and experience!

The Projects page is always a good place to start: https://cycling74.com/?project-tag=synthesizer

Both of which might sound a little retro and synthetic, but I think that was the point ;-)

Thanks for the links. They are very useful for learning :-)

I am also trying to collect synthesis made in max that are not all that retro sounding.

Perhaps it is not possible in max, unless you have made something very complex?

Perhaps I should start to look into csound instead? Did anyone make some non-retro sounding csound synths (that also works with max)? I am going through the examples from the csound manual currently ... sorry that I am trying to fast track by asking for pre-made code, but it really helps having a good example to learn from!
