tap-sequencer instead of step-sequencer out of Live.step object

Does anyone has an idea how to make a tap-sequencer out of the Live.step object. All the instruments/help files are set to step through the sequence using Live's midi clock/transport. I am looking for a way that it is possible to step through the sequence by hitting the same key/note all the time.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks in advance

midi in - select note - counter 1 to loop length - live.step

this is documented very clearly in the [live.step] help file. alt-click [live.step] in patch-UNlocked mode and look at all the subpatchers... i use it like this all the time...

Hi,
I'm an absolute beginner with Max and M4L and I still haven't found the way to make the tap sequencer. Could one of you explain me more precisely ?
Thanks for your help,
C.

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

copy everything including and between ----------begin_max5_patcher---------- and -----------end_max5_patcher-----------, then paste it into an empty max patch / empty m4l midi device... good luck...
