temperature sensor MIN MAX

Hi, I'm actually new with MAX, Thursday I'm takeing an examination in design interaction.(basic level)
I'm tryng to write a patch that use the temperature sensor stream(not very stable, first problem). I should register the low value and the highest value of the sensor inside a scale/zmap to calibrate the range, closing after that step the calibration and starting the interaction. Please, could anyone help me?? I cannot really do it by myself anymore..
Thanks a lot,
cristina

Hi Cristina.

At a quick look, your patch seems to go in the right direction, but knowing some more max objects would help - moreover, not everyone in the forum can understand comments and names in Italian ;)

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

the peak and trough objects give you the minimum and maximum from a stream of data. So, here is more or less what you need for your calibration thing:

... about your incoming data, there are many filtering techniques you can apply, but you should be more precise about the kind of unstability you're experiencing - it would make easier to help you!

good luck

this thread has an excellent example patch with multiple data-smoothing options. worth a look for the smoothing as well as learning some more Max trickery:
