Tempo bug?

Hi,

Does anybody know why everytime I load a patch with the tempo object i get errors? The patch seems to have rid itself of all its connections. I can create new ones SOMETIMES but most of the time I have to start a new patcher, create one there and copy/paste it in. Its really frustrating now because I can't rely on it to work.

thanks

It sounds to me like you have something else named "tempo" in your
search paths.

Search your hard disk for tempo.* and I bet you find something other
that tempo.mxo

Thanks for the speedy reply. I just copied the entire patch to a new patcher window and the problem seems to be solved. I don't know how it happened or how it ended. Its almost as if it was exclusively that particular patcher.

Did you search your disk to see if there was another file named tempo
in your search path?

If that was your root problem, this problem will reappear.

Yeah I did. I found tempo.mxo and a few other files called tempo.* 2 of them were part of the Max tutorial on tempo so I suppose they're fine. One was a patch I'd made to calculate tempo from clicks, so I've renamed that. The other is a tempo help file from SuperCollider I think.

Would I have to rename that file too?

On the subject of tempo, I was using tempo to count from 1-15 to send matrix data in time. Is there any other way I could do this and in some way link it to the GlobalTransport so that when the tempo and time change so will my sent data? I hope that makes some sense :)
