Hi,

Before I order the Intuos4 tablet - does this work with the wacom object in max? Is there anyone, who has had good experience with the Intuos4 tablet sending data into max?

Thanks ahead,

Anamaria

I should get my Intuos 4 in a few days; I'll get back to you then.

Forgive my ignorance but do all such tablet devices require pen input only? I'd like to try one such interface in a Max DMI, but using fingertip interaction (not necessarily multitouch); should i be looking at, for example, the HP Slate or other iPad-alikes?

Brendan,

The iPad will definitely do what you want and there a number of apps with Max patches already available or easily programmed to do just about anything you want. Examples are: TouchOSC, Mrmr, Fantastick, and c74. Each has a slightly different twist on how get things done. Mrmr is free and pretty well supported, and TouchOSC while not free is very nice and a native iPad app.

Are the apps you mention solely iPad native?

None of those apps is solely iPad native. All are available for iPhone and perhaps other platforms.

Midipad (http://midipad.de/) is due for release very soon and will be iPad native.

OK... I've got it !!! It works with Max/MSP 4.6 (didn't install Max 5 yet...) and with the wacom external.

So it should go smoothly in Max 5.
