I know other people have been complaining that the new patchcords are too thick, and I must agree. I just realized while patching that it's not only a matter of taste but really also readability, so I thought I'd give an example.
For years I've never used aligned patchcords, because I like to see where things are going and aligning them makes it worse imo. In a sense the new curvy patch cords are really nice, since it looks clearer and more natural than the old straight cords I think.
However because of their thickness you run into trouble. Now sometimes I cannot see where things are going with no way of solving that! See the example below. With old style straight cords this would be completely clear, but now its becoming confusing and unreadable.
