tips for selecting patchcords - does anyone else struggle with this?
I really struggle selecting patch cords - does anyone else have the problem? I find myself clicking like crazy, trying the center, close to the patches, and sometimes ending up zooming in.
Is there any easy trick to just get the patchcord selected? Or maybe it's a resolution / mouse setting on my Mac? I'm on a Macbook Pro on OS X Lion.
Thanks for your help!!
Same 'problem' here; I always guessed it was a resolution issue, but I can never select a patch cord first time, always takes several tries.
Yes fella, sometimes i found too hard click in the cord,, more with crispy eyes in long patching days and also with non very precise mouses. Maybe could be nice have some setting in max6 to choose the width of the cords (a la line_width) or maybe a thershold parameter that select a cord even when you click p.e 1pix away... Btw you can select cords holding alt key and dragging mouse over the cord..
Best!
or how about when you click a modifier key Max knows you intend to select a cord and either makes them visually thicker or just makes the clickable area for selecting cords larger? I would love that.
alt+click n drag selects patchcords without having to pin point them
Thanks dtr!
Case closed - _exactly_ what I needed.
also, to edit all cords at once, I use Hide Foreground, then you can just Select All easily and do whatever you want...change colors, hide, etc. Though I wouldn't recommend Align or Route Cords with a lot selected.
very cool trick! I'll be using that :-)
