tl.objects (or alternative bp filter)
Hi all,
I have been looking for a simple Band Pass filter that behaves similarly to the BP~ object in PD. I might have found it in the tl.objects library (tl.butterbp~) but I can't seem to install it.
I'm using MAX/MSP/Jit 5 on an intel mac.
Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Hope you are all well.
bests,
Nick
Have a look at [svf~] it is included in the standard distribution and can act as a lowpass, bandpass, highpass and notch filter. You might also want to look at the 2up version which can be found here. To install third party objects like this one or [tl.butterbp~] you must add it to the max search path either by placing it in Max5/Cycling '74/msp-externals or by adding the file path manually using Options > File Preferences from the menu.

Hi,
I hope you got it working, the tl.objects are supposed to work on Intel Macs. If you want to explore these filters further, I would recommend downloading the latest Jamoma 0.5 beta version and test out tt.filter~. This incorporates all my previous Butterworth filters with additional ones (1st, 3rd and 4th order), as well as filters whipped up by Tim Place, in one Swiss army knife style filter external:
You'll find basically the same external being part of the most recent version of tap.tools as well, available from Electrotap.com.
If you have additional questions concerning any tl.objects, and do not receive a response from me here, you could also try the 3rd party Max mailing list. I unfortunately don't always have the the time to keep track of what's going on here on the forums.
Best,
Trond
hope you don't mind trond...
