Hi,

How do I assign audio to from different channels in Live from Max?
Should I use ezdac?

How can I use the spacebar when Max window is in front to start/stop
Live sequencer?

Cheers

put the dac~ in rewire mode (options/DSP status) for sending audio, and take a look at hostcontrol~ for controlling live.

Thanks!

hostcntrol~ also works when Max is slave?

Can i send midi to Live from max when Live is master?

Cheers

Ok, what im trying to do is having one channel in Live for each subpatch in Max (drums, bass etc) sending midi from Live, sending each subpatch to a different channel in Live, and arrange the song in Live timeline, so I have on midichannel and one audiochannel in Live for each max subpatch.

This is the way to do it? (until something new maybe is announced at NAMM 09)

Cheers

Hi there !

Please tell me about your workflow with Live/MAX/Rewire !

I want to do all basic midi using the Live timeline , sending this to Max subpatches, and sending audio back to Live.

I always hated the idea of Rewire, but I think this might be a brilliant idea after all. If I save both Live and Max files in a Max/Live/Rewire projetc folder, Rewire might not be so bad after all.

My problem now is that all my subpatches get the same midi data from Live, im using notein in max to get midi, sending it to dac~.
Should I use one dac~ for each sub patch?

Cheers !

you can send midi in both directions, no matter slave or master.

check the "midiout" or "notein" object in max and select "from maxmsp" in the out port. you can set up all your environment with different midi channels.

the same from live, select "tomaxmsp" from your mid strip to send midi to max.

When sending midi to Max, should everything go over ReWire 1 ?
