6 cameras in one computer
Hi all,
I'm searching the way to handle 6 cameras with only one computer, could be Mac or PC. Someone know which hardware could handle that? or if I need to use for example two miniMac in network sending the images with jit.net.send and (receive) plus a a/d video converter with three inputs.
Any suggestion is truly welcome
Thanks
David
What exactly are you trying to accomplish with 6 cameras? Maybe if you gave us an idea of what you want to do someone could help you come up with a solution? Also what sort of cameras are you using (eg. usb webcam type or DV cam via firewire...?)
What sort of camera I have to use is exactly what I need to know. The idea is to use 6 surveillance cameras. This is a project where the artists need to project in a big exposition room. They are expecting to have two options:
1) Project one camera + some effects. And the program is choosing witch camera is projecting depending of the
sound in the space where the cameras are. of course using 6 microphones and analyzing the sound, but the sound issue is simple to resolve.
2) Project all the 6 cameras at the same time.
Problem: They only have one computer...
Thanks
David
Unibrain fire-i or some other IIDC cameras can be the solution.
Or firewire dv cameras.
There is driver limitation with dv cameras on mac computers(only one dv device), which is not the case for PC, but you will need addition firewire card for each camera for batter performance.
