A granular patch I'd like some feedback on
I've been working on this over the last couple weeks, and I just got it to version 1.0. There's more detailed info in the link, but basically, the patch contains four granular playback sections with sequencers that can route individual grains through different effects.
As of now the only controls available are onscreen. I plan to implement MIDI CC and note controls, but as I don't haver a MIDI controller on hand at the moment, it'll take a little while.
Any criticism you have would be appreciated.
Oh whoa, that is awesome. At first I thought it didn't work but then I realized I had to load in some sound files. I already made this crazy ambient noise with only two loops.
Just an idea, it'd be cool if you could put an individual filter on each sound. I couldn't really figure out the delay and flanger. Not sure if those were doing anything. I still made some cool sounds. It sounded like morsecode with some dark orchestra. Also Is there a way you could make it loop the sound smoother? I could get some sounds to loop smoothly but maybe if you increased the fade in/out it would make more of a continuous sound. Good work though.
Thanks for trying it out. The filter is a cool idea, don't know why that didn't occur to me. I'll probably incorporate that.
Just to be clear, you actually routed some sound to the delay and flanger, yes? and turned up the "wet" volume settings? I'm just wondering because I haven't had any issues with them so far.
Re: the fades, that's entirely up to the user. I've set it up in such a way that you can have it fade in for the entire first half of the sample and fade out for the entire second half, if necessary. Maybe you were triggering new grains too fast for the number of voices you selected? The voice stealing that requires can cause pops.

Just wanted to let you know I've updated the patch, added MIDI control and lowpass filters for each section. The above link will still take you to it.
I gave this a try, it looks very promising! Here are some thoughts:
- Add probability on the triggering metro, this gives variation in rhythmic patterns
- Possibility to add a LFO on some af the granual parameters, grain length, pitch, reverse probability etc.
- Ralation between the different metros, for locked polyrhythms if one changes
- Live buffer filling from sound input!
- The effect routing with the multi slider interface is a bit odd, it looks like one effect can't be used without the other
