Additive Synthesis, Vibraphone (with sampled strike)

Ploki's icon

Thought I'd share, i've been doing it this morning because the physically modeled vibes from percolate didn't cut it for me.

I needed something more inspiring than pure sine for studying microtonality, but i wanted it as precise as it gets so I decided to whip up additively synthesized Vibes which i can freely detune.

Major flaws (that I don't need fixed for my purposes)
- sampled as opposed to generated impulse or at least formant shifting of the impulse, because it becomes completely unrealistic after going more than a 5th over the basic 440hz tone.
- velocity
- lfo for overtone amplitude and frequency
- dynamic overtone ratio

*overtones are (roughly) derived from analyzing an actual vibes sample, and then fine-tuned by ear.

Each overtone has its own: Gain, Envelope, Pan, Frequency(linked to the fundamental-or not)

Preset1 is struck vibes, and preset2 is something that happens if you bow it. :P

With a few modifications it could easily be adapted for real-time playability inside poly~
