AIFF to midi via fiddle~

hello!

i've downloaded fiddle~ via max externals, but haven't managed to get midi notes out of a selfmade song of mine (AIFF) - and clearly understand how it works with a signal.

this is perfect, just that one misses out on the insight of the patcher here ("p audiotomidi"):

i guess he works with fiddle~ or pitch~

but how make fiddle~ receive my sound file?

all the best!

Use sfplay~ to load your sound file. The output of that goes to fiddle~.

if you use max 5 and a mac you should have a look at sigmund~. it's fiddle's bigger, better, badder "brother"....

thx! and again, my impatience outpaced a more detailed approach.. sorry.

i've been spending the whole day surfing the forum using fiddle~, pitch~ & analyzer~ - nonetheless my premiere coming across sigmund~ at this point..

it's awesome :) thank you

i'm actually trying to rebuild the youtube example "Audio to Midi Transcription" mentioned above. i get the basic structure (i think), although i'd really like to know what's in that "audiotomidi" patcher.

because my main problem lies right in there:
how do i transcript outcoming pitch (taking my voice in Hz, let's say 100 Hz - 500 Hz) into a defined midi scale of 0 - 127 notes. (i was always unimaginative when it comes to mathematics)

nice weekend 2 all

Intelliscore is a software that converts aiif to midi. It works with fiddle and many other instruments. Download it here:
