An efficient way of Recording Midi into a itable
Once again I cant find any good tutorials on this so I've decided to post again,
Does anyone use an itable to record midi into max??
Whats an efficient way of recording midi so that you can view and edit it?
Thanks and good fortune
Can the seq object have a way of displaying the notes you recorded into it?
Is it true that max doesn't have a graphical representation of midi data to be able to manipulate and stuff?
How do you guys edit your midi in max?
I don't edit my midi in max, I use an external sequencer for that
though you might want to try (haven't tried these myself yet):
https://cycling74.com/tools/rnd-manager-an-alternative-score-display-utility/
http://www.noteformax.net/data/index.php/en/ (I don't think that one is already public)
and there is techno~ (+its ui)
[detonate] is graphical, misunderstood and very powerful.
and [live.step] should be thrown into this category i guess, too, fwiw.
[note~] is very good but a bit clunky beta at the moment.
the bach library is genius, http://www.bachproject.net/bach/home_page.html
from the detonate helpfile: "NOTE: Graphic editing with the detonate object is not supported in Max 5."
graphical editing came back a few versions ago... it is in the beta downloads section of the site, not in the actual distro yet for some reason... works absolutely fine for me...
didn't know that :-)
where can we download detonate? I can't find a beta section anywhere on cycling 74.
thanks pid.
freaking awesome thanks
sorry, but is there any way someone can show me a basic example of how i can graphically record and graphically edit midi with detonate or a way they think is better?
Just something i can build off of? Would u still use seq? itable?
Just don't know how to go about it
sorray
