any advice on a ultra-HiRes projector?

In the next month or so I plan to buy a hd projector. I want it for performances of various sorts, including my dissertation piece, which is for sensor-mounted dancers and interactivity-central. Thus, I will need a little light on the performers on stage, so I need a projector with a high lumen count.

I am looking at the Optoma Professional TWR1693 (which has 3600 lumens @1280x800) so far, which seems to have low cost bulb replacement at around $200.

Does anyone have experience using a projector with this many lumens with live performers? Will this model handle light without producing a washed out projection? Is this a good investment, at around $1300, as far as projectors go?

Any info for a newbie to projectors would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks for any help! robbie

I have bought a few projectors, and used more, and the only thing I can say with certainty is that what makes for a good projector is fairly dependent upon your needs, lifestyle, and how it will be used. I highly recommend reading over reviews and specs at projectorcentral.com, and if you have time, trying out a few different types of projectors before settling on one.
