Ive been frying my brain with this for too long and I need some help to see the trees from the wood. In this part of a patch I would like to select how many steps (0) are in a sequence and how many notes or hits (1) there are. I've been using uzi, zl.slice etc. vexpr but i am having issues with 8 steps and 8 notes. I know this is probably a logic issue but I can't help but think that I am overcooking this.

Could you fine folks have a look and after you pick yourselves up of the floor please for the love of all that is holy help me find a less obtuse way to achieve this...

Assuming I understand your goal correctly, here is a simpler solution.

Understood perfectly Broc, this is exactly what I was looking for. Didn't think of using Uzi in that way. Thanks!
