Hey- theres a few ways to do this, depends very much on what you mean by trying to get the bpm. You could probably get this information using an object like bonk~ or analyzer~ with the actual tracks- though this is far from fullproof- likewise with making some kind of peak detector using average~.

On the whole for simplicity and reliability across the spectrum I'd just use timer and tap the tempo yourself with space or something- though its not that suffisticated- it doesnt go wrong.
