Just making my first few tentative steps in Max and I can't quite crack playing things from the buffer. Sometimes it works and other times not. The patch below is a convoluted answer to the problem set in MSP tutorial 5. All seems to work fine.......except I can't hear anything!

I think the audio has loaded into the buffer, as it shows the wave form when I double click on it. No doubt there's a very obvious answer.

buffer-and-cycle

You simply need to remove the dot "." between "329.627563" and "dj" within the argument list of your cycle~ object. Otherwise, your cycle~ object won't find the buffer~ "dj".

that's just the solution to your patch, not sure if it applies to what you were saying about MSP Tutorial 5(i haven't looked). Hope it helps, either way.
