check failed: egetfn (setport): corrupt object

Feb 25 2008 | 9:45 am

I have a quite complex patch with many bpatchers, abstractions etc.
Recently, I get frequently the error message "check failed: egetfn
(setport): corrupt object". When I search it on the list, I get
rather contradictionary results: Peter Castine says it’s something
like the end of the world, David Zicarelly says in another context it
can be just ignored. I couldn’t find any explanation about what the
message means and what it refers to.

I have a live presentation in three days, and I am very worried about
my work. Can someone please give an explanation what exactly this
error message means and if I have to take precautions???

Thanks and best from Berlin,
