After reading some post, i'm not quite sure if its possible to work with Max in Protools? So is it possible? Yes, then how?

No, you cannot create RTAS plug-ins with max. However, you can create standalone programs which can be re-wired into PT, or ones that you can simply route audio in/out of to use with PT.

Thanks!! Too bad. About routing the audio in and out; is it possible to create compressor, eq and effect like plugins?

Yes it is (not plug-ins, just standalone route-able apps), have a look through the msp tutorials, and search the forum for more info.

Um.....Pluggo Runtime/Max 4.6?
Still available, still working, even if it is unsupported.
Caveat: there does appear to be some kind of issue with PT 8, where sometimes RTAS plugs will not register. This only seems to happen on some machines, though, and Audiosuite versions still work fine.
I don't know what the pricing/licensing policy is now with Max 4.6 for Max 5 owners, and with that unsupported tag, I might be reluctant to buy a copy now if didn't already have one.
But there are many good reasons to use Pluggo rather than Rewire and I'm guessing that there are plenty of folks here still using Pluggo who would be happy to answer your questions, so it's definitely worth checking out,
cheers
