I'm pretty sure I've seen some patches that you can get a visual of a text while you move the cursor. Thus, you can get some info for the x fader or the y button. Unfortunately, I can't remember the patches cause it was ages ago.. Is it an object with comes with Max/MSP or an external object? I've spend the last hour trying to find the object with no luck so any help is more than welcome.

Not sure what you mean a visual of a text- but if you are looking for the x y co-ordinates of the mouse - the object is mousestate.
