decklink SP interlacing question

Hello,
I've just recently installed a Decklink SP card into a new MacPro 2.8 8 core machine running 10.5.5. I'm doing various tests using the jit.qt.grab object capturing "composite" video from a Canon XL2 camera @ 10 bit uncompressed. Everything works as planned EXCEPT I cannot get rid of the interlacing.

- The "highquality", "singlefield" and "deinterlace" has no effect when played back thru jit.qt.movie.

- Apple Quicktime player solves the problem by checking "singlefield" within the movie properties.

- I've tried various attribute combinations within jit.qt.grab:
"field", "singlefield" and "vmode".

I have a feeling it could be a decklink issue as I can deinterlace as normal on clips played back thru jit.qt.movie that were not captured on the decklink??

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated..

My head has suffered severely as most of my hair sits in a pile on the floor.

All the best,
Stuart Smith

Try this shader. It does simple line averaging, but works for sources that have been imporperly 'progressified' (ie, the interlacing embedded in the progressive frame), and might work for you in this instance.

Vade,
Cheers for that, not with the machine at the moment.
Very strange indeed, If i can't solve it I may have to return and try the DFG1394. I assume the Decklink SP doesn't recognize any of the field attributes in jit.qt.grab.
I'll let you know how I get on.
All the best,
Stuart
