I want to make a one shot sampler where it is possible to select the piece of audio required in a larger file using a waveform~ object and then change the pitch for each sample and globally as well. I want the samples to be one shots and so I have discounted groove~ (maybe too soon?) as it's a faff (especially when using poly~) to select loop points and have one shots (the end of the loop triggering a zero).

I am using play~ where the selection points and then the length of that selection generate the message that triggers playback. I would really appreciate some advice as to how to deal with the pitch shifting element? I know that I could multiply or divide the part of the message that deals with how long the playback takes to get to the end, but I can't find an efficient elegant way to make it happen. Below is the patch I have been working on, I would really appreciate any advice on how to improve it, especially in terms of the pitch shifting.
