dowload speed issue with jit.uldl in local network

hi

i have a setup where multiple laptops download files from a server in the local network using jit.uldl. some of the laptops are mac, some of them win, installed with max5 runtime. the server is a mac and xampp server is installed.

these downloads are sometimes simultaneous, sometimes not. regardless to its simultaneity, the download speed is fairly slow although it's local network.

a single download takes 20-30 seconds for a 10mb file. when i try to download the same file using a browser in the same network, it instantly downloads it - as expected.

i rearranged this setup both with wireless and cabled (i have a adsl modem with 4 ports). with both ftp and http download. weirdly, the speed doesn't change too much in max.

i would be very very glad if someone has any idea why max's download speed is way slower than browser's download speed in local network. this setup is used in live performances, so time is kind of important.

thank you

Do you use the same port for both ? Have you tried to use shell object to do so ? And see what is the download rate ?

sure. ports are the same, otherwise there wouldn't be a connection or transfer at all.

i didn't use shell object to check the rate but during the transfer i can check istat which also shows the rates. it is kind of unbalanced but between 250-500kb/s. only local wireless network, no internet connection.

i'm suspecting more of a max or xammp trick.
