Error:foo/bar/X: not a folder
The folder object is telling me that a folder is not a folder, which is pretty annoying because I know it to be one, and I need it to be recognised as such.
How do I convince it that it is a folder?!
If it helps, this folder is contained within a Dropbox folder, and it is a named path in my file preferences, which has been quite happily working before. Restarting Max has not helped.
I have come across this problem before, but unfortunately have no idea how or why it became resolved.
I am a little concerned, because this is part of a large patch that I am presenting for my Masters project, and it absolutely depends on being able to load bpatches from this folder!
Max 5, OS10.6 btw
Cheers

Hi Roger,
I'm not in front of Max right now but I think folder paths end with a slash?
Using dropfile -> prepend set -> message box usually clears up all folder related issues for me. FWIW, I'm happily saving images from max to a dropbox photo folder, so absolute paths inside dropbox works ok.
Cheers,
Georg
Thanks. Now that you mention it, that's pretty much what I did before when this happened - how I miss my memory!
Are you the Georg who may well be sitting on my viva panel, or is this just a coincidence?!
cheers
Roger
