Grumbling Feathers

So im trying to spatialise by allocating different frequency bins amplitude values and duplicating this for each channel resulting in some interesting spatial images. This is an early trial and is based on an excellent paper by Corte Lippe. Any advice would be much appreciated including how to add better depth of control.

Also how can I make the phasing less harsh and more "musical"? I've tried rampsmooth~ but that isn't particularly helpful.
